Koan Sound Give Generously
I’ve championed Bristol trio Koan Sound ever since the days of ‘Clowny’ and ‘Blessed’ and it’s nice to see how far they’ve come…which is perhaps a lot further than I’ve come myself. Whilst I’m still working through my addiction to coke (the beverage), they’re getting releases on multiple labels, smashing huge shows and being played out by the likes of Aphex Twin. They’re nice lads too and ever sympathetic to my poverty-stricken predicament, they’ve decided to give away three tunes for the princely sum of nothing.
With all three offerings varying in tone, ‘Wide Open’ will put you in a positive let’s-go-and-do-this place, ‘Can You Hear Us’ — the choice pick — will make you wonder if you’ve slept yourself into a warped marshmallow reality and ‘New Beginnings’ will have you trying to tear your own feet off. One for every occasion then, no?
