Empt – Girl
Released on Project Moon Circle yesterday as part of his debut LP Unfold, “Girl” is a nocturnal excursion from Romanian producer Empt. With the swung and slightly tuned out dinky lead combined with a diving bassline — not to mention the actual name of the track — this one has the melancholic feel of a prostitute haplessly plying her trade in deserted city streets. Or any other gloomy story playing out beneath the paradoxically optimistic yet sinister neon lights of a modern urban centre for that matter … It feels right that I’m posting this so late.
