Dusk + Blackdown – LD032

Incoming on their own Keysound imprint, LD032 is the latest single from Dusk + Blackdown. The first we’ve seen from the duo in a fair while, their 2008 LP Margins Music was a work of art and if you’ve not had a chance to listen to it, stop reading and do it now (and then come back and finish reading … obviously).
Comprising three tunes, the a-side here is home to “High Road”, while “Ex-Swing” and a Blackdown VIP mix of Dusk’s classic single “Focus” occupy the flip. As Fact Mag implied earlier this week, there are hints of Burial lurking in “High Road”, which I suppose is an inescapable comparison when dealing with atmospheric garage. Influence and/or coincidental similarities aside, it still sounds pretty damn good.
With the release date slated for some point towards the end of the month, you can preview all three tunes below and place a cheeky pre-order for the 12″ at Juno.
Edit: Some factual inaccuracies fixed…maybe I should write posts a little earlier in the day when my brain is working.
