Distance From the Future (CHST008)
Trip merchant Distance is kicking off 2010 with a characteristically dark release set to drop on Chestplate early in February. CHST008 comprises ‘Menace’, a tenebrous piece pervaded by a foreboding, rugged bassline, and ‘Beyond’, an epic and nebulous anthem of depth and escapism, on the flip. Both tracks sound like they’ve been sent from the future for us to play over the first shots of the robots coming back in time to enslave us and to be honest, I can’t think of anything more romantic. I might propose to my girlfriend next time we watch Terminator…
Neither of these tunes are available at the moment, so I’ve attached a clip of ‘Menace’ from Caspa’s essential mix and would advise you to head over to Distance’s Myspace to hear a preview of ‘Beyond’. If you’re into the robot-scratching-his-metallic-balls vibe like I am, you should get on this release as soon as possible. It’s a special brand of colossal that could only be forged by the mind of Distance.
