Pivot, Warp's New Signing
The distinct lack of Aussie talent on Warp Records has been eating me away for years, sort of. With that in mind, imagine my uncontrollable joy when the label announced their newest signing Pivot; a band not only hailing from down under but who also supported Battles on the Australian leg of their tour. With influences such as Aphex Twin and Arcade Fire, gigs alongside Battles and now a nest in the Warp rooster you're only really going to listen to some of their stuff to satisfy those expectations getting all excited in your head. You best conform to that weird social norm where you're only allowed to like a band if you've actually heard their music too, otherwise there'll be trouble. Yay MySpace!
