Jan Hammer(time)
Remember Miami Vice? No me neither, because to be honest it was made before I was born, but just like The Cool Kids I've had a sudden, unexplainable urge to bring the 80s back. Only the good bits mind, I don't want to be seen championing Margaret Thatcher or pastel suits with ridiculous collars. Point is, Jan Hammer composed most of the entire Miami Vice series soundtrack, it's all textbook eighties synths and drum machines, beautiful. I've seen/heard a couple of his tracks mixed into Radio Soulwax part 2 and Fabriclive.38 by DJ Craze so far, I'm just hoping for more. Whatever you do, do not visit his official site, unless you loved the way the internet looked in 1995.
