Festival News: Forgotten Glastonbury
I think I'll start with the announcement of a new festival in the North, The Forgotten Valley Festival. Taking place from May 23-25 at the Westmorland County Showground near Kendal (my childhood stomping ground), The Teenagers, The Wombats, Crystal Castles, New Young Pony Club and Happy Mondays have all been confirmed to perform. Full weekend and camping tickets are £80 for the first 2000 sold and then rise to £100 from there on in - s'not too bad I guess. Anyway, elsewhere, Radiohead have expressed their desire to play this year's Glastonbury Festival. Guitarist Jonny Greenwood spoke to Radio 1: "We're talking about probably going, whether we'll play or do anything musical, I've no idea. Thom (Yorke) was there last year and really enjoyed seeing bands like Madness playing in the casino, so maybe we'll do that this year." So, I think we can assume that an appearance is pretty much definite, what kind of event organiser would turn down Radiohead anyway? A stupid one, that's who!
